ROP Career Pathways

Spring 2017

February 13 – April 7

Through a partnership with the Marin County Office of Education (MCOE), programming at the Community Education Center (CEC) MakerSpace-Media Studio is aligned with the Regional Occupational Program (ROP) curriculum for 21st century technical skills through the use of technology. The new curricular structure incorporates the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Foundation Standards in the Multimedia and Engineering Industry Sectors.

The Marin ROP CEC MakerSpace -Media Studio classes lets high school students earn high school credits, as well as articulating class work for community college credit.

DIY Engineering

Science Technology Engineering Art Math

We believe youth can solve any problem using the principles of engineering. Join us in designing the future through this 8-week program Participants complete a five stage design process: 1) Sketching and Ideation; 2) Documentation and Plussing; 3) Prototyping; 4) Fabrication; 5) Exhibition.

Core Craft Skills: Media

 

Learn the ins and outs of scripting, filming, sound creation, and editing for Public Access Television and Virtual Reality (VR). Have access to a variety of media, including but not limited to: film, animation, graphic art, and audio.  Students go on assignment to film community events, interview local talent, and create VR content.

LunaTech Careers

 

LunaTech Careers is a program for high school girls to explore various career opportunities.  This fall, explore a career in Product Design. Learn 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, Electric Circuits, and more to develop a product to be sold on our Etsy store.

This is not an ROP program.
